I agree. DVDs are wonderful starters, but I doubt that anything compares with classes with a pro. (I just wish that I could afford those classes.)

I had to start with DVDs but taking classes is really the best option if you can afford it or make it to class! Having a teacher help you with dance movements (among other things) is important for improving your skills! Unfortunately for me, I live in a small town so I can only attend class once and awhile. Le sigh. Thank goodness for belly dance DVDs! ~corinne
